Meet Mack
Founder & Chief Pet Specialist & Pet Photographer
Mack has spent more than 35 years caring for and handling pets of all shapes, sizes, breeds, and personalities. As a lifelong animal lover and proud San Diego native, he built WalkPlayWag around one simple belief: pets deserve personalized care from people who genuinely love what they do.
Over the years, Mack has provided professional pet care services throughout San Diego, Temecula, and Orange County, earning thousands of 5-star reviews across multiple pet care and dog walking platforms. His experience ranges from energetic puppies and rescue pets to seniors, large breeds, and multi-pet households.
Mack specializes in supportive walking techniques that help encourage confidence, structure, and positive behavior during walks. Standing 6'5", he is especially experienced with large dogs, multiple dog handling, and managing strong or high-energy pets safely and confidently.
He is pet CPR trained and certified and brings years of hands-on experience working with dog behavior, pet safety, and structured care techniques.
Before founding WalkPlayWag, Mack spent five years working with the American Red Cross, helping people through meaningful moments and developing a strong foundation in compassion, communication, and service.
Beyond professional pet care, Mack has worked alongside and supported numerous dog and cat rescue organizations throughout the United States. He is also a proud father of five wonderful children and shares his home with a rescued German Shepherd and three cats.
For Mack, pet care has never simply been about walking dogs.
It's about trust, connection, safety, and treating every pet like family.
And chances are, when your pet sees him arrive, the tail wagging starts before the leash even comes out.
Meet Madison "Madi"
Co-Owner & Pet Specialist
Madison "Madi" brings years of hands-on experience in dog walking, pet sitting, and cat care to WalkPlayWag. A lifelong animal lover, Madi has grown up around pets and has spent years learning pet care, safety, structured routines, and personalized attention for animals of all personalities and energy levels.
She recently welcomed a rescued Malinois Shepherd into her family through Helen Woodward Animal Center and has developed a growing passion for dog behavior, pet safety, and creating positive experiences for pets through patience, structure, and care.
Madi will be graduating from Rancho Bernardo High School with honors and is stepping into a full-time role with WalkPlayWag, helping expand the family business while continuing the same personalized care and values it was built on.
Beyond pet care, Madi also worked with the Poway Unified School District ESS program, helping care for and support children in after-school programs. That experience strengthened skills that naturally carry into pet care as well: patience, attentiveness, compassion, adaptability, and understanding that every individual has unique needs.
Whether it's a long adventure walk, playtime, overnight care, or simply making pets feel safe and loved while their families are away, Madi brings warmth, energy, and a genuine connection that pets quickly respond to.
